Vegan Sausage Rollups Bento 7

Posted on June 23, 2010 by Debra

I know that I’ve been seriously neglecting my daily posting of bento photos. And there’s a “stack” of them just waiting for me. Like a lot of you I’ve been busy with household chores and my recent obsession with outdoor repairs and yardwork.

Hello Kitty Bento 28

Posted on April 11, 2010 by Debra

I was creating a Hello Kitty squidoo lens for the Kawaii Bento Club  when I suddenly realized that I do not have any Hello Kitty bento boxes!  I was shocked as I have quite a stash of cute bento gear and miscellaneous Hello Kitty stuff.  I guess in my mind I merged the two collections and assumed that at least one of the boxes  represented our “Queen of Kawaii”… Hello Kitty!  But I was wrong and very dissapointed in myself.

Tortellini Bento Box 6

Posted on January 03, 2010 by Debra

I must be in a “roasting” phase because today’s featured bento box contains broccolini that is prepared using the same  roasting recipe as yesterday’s roasted broccoli post .  This time I was able to add the parmesan so today’s veggie isn’t as naked.  The broccolini though is a bit daintier than the it’s robust cousin so it took no time at all turn crispy brown.   I caught it just in time before it started to burn. Chicken and Egg Bento Box 5

Today’s featured bento box features the last piece of 5 spice roasted chicken , a thigh.   Saba Man’s lunch needed more, so  additional protein is a triangle shaped fried egg.  There are 2 mini musubi, one wrapped in nori and the other with sesame/seaweed furikake.  Steamed asparagus, olives and tomatoes fill out the rest of box!

The egg was fried then steamed in a triangle shaped cookie cutter.   I didn’t photograph using the triangle, but  I did for a heart shape!

The Round Box Bento 2

Posted on August 27, 2009 by Debra

I really enjoy packing this round box. It seems no matter what I add, it looks ok. I think the round box just lends itself to nice bento presentation. I recommend a round box for those who are doubting their ability to pack both healthy and pretty bento lunches.

Bento Contents: Miso Egg, Olives, Champagne Grapes, Carrots, Fig, and Strawberries. I ‘ve lined the box with green leafy lettuce as it’s a nice filler and great as a partition between some items.
