Tuna Squares Bento 10
Since Saba Man has stopped eating meat, his lunch bentos are frequently packed with “something tuna”!
Today is no exception.

More Meatless Monday fun!
Today’s bento contains a rice combination that started out as a hodgepodge of ingredients that didn’t have a direction but ended up being very tasty!
Today’s Meatless Monday bento is probably the easiest one I’ve assembled to date!
A Tofu Soboro!
Monday is almost over….gotta post this now!
Today’s Meatless Monday bento contains:
Tofu burgers. I made myself for the first time! I’m so proud. No recipe yet because they’re not perfect and I have to tweak some ingredients.
Edamame.
Baked kabocha.
Fried scallions.
Enoki mushrooms.
Umeboshi.
Sprounted rice.
Sesame seed and salt furikake.
Yes, that is a lettuce leaf. I broke my boycott.
2 more minutes…
Gotta post!

You know what they say, ” don’t fix it if it’s not broken!” And that’s exactly what’s going on in my kitchen of late.
Chicken and rice.
Packed in stainless steel box. Sound familiar?
A winning formula that doesn’t need improvement.
Just catching up with this very simple bento from a few days ago. We both had sudden changes to our schedules so swift bento preparation was in order. You probably recognize the shoyu chicken! It’s my one of my “go-to” recipes and can be quickly prepared while the rice is cooking. I was done before I knew it!
Threw in edamame and leftover gobo kimpira and voila!
We have bento. I added furikake, yellow takuan and sprigs of enoki mushrooms to keep this lunch from being too boring.
Very rush-rush… I didn’t even bother with baran but I think it turned out okay.
Haha! Looks like I’m still on the stainless steel kick!

I’m crazy about stainless steel bento boxes! An obsession, a passion, a fascination or … a healthy fixation. Okay, I go with that.
This is the last bento of 2010! Wow, can’t believe the year is over. The line, “time flies when you’re having fun” never rang truer than with this blog.
At last! The recipe.
But before you take a peek… a warning that the instructions for Furikake Tuna Burgers only looks daunting. Three stages! What the heck? Isn’t bento making supposed to be easy?
No worries.
I assure you it’s very quick to prepare and the outcome is delicious. I promise.
Woot! Introducing a new bento box. Two-tiered stainless steel! I loves this box.
