It’s a double-whamy of love today! A meatless bento for heart-healthy awareness plus a Valentine theme. A very subtle tribute to love with a heart-shaped radish slice. Read the rest of this entry →
Today’s bento has quite the variety of items including a radish-rabbit as I’m trying to get in as many bunnies until February 3rd. That’s the start of “The Year of the Rabbit” according to the Chinese calendar.
The last of the Christmas themed bentos! How happy we were to receive a tree-shaped tin filled with sweets!
Saba Man and I quickly ate the yummy contents (homemade chocolate truffles), they were scrumptious! When the box was empty I realized I could use this cute tree-shaped box for tonight’s bento.
A gift that keeps on giving!
So here it is…ham-wrapped string beans, inarizushi and tomatoes.
“That was easy!”
Hope everyone has a joyous holiday! Peace and joy to you all!
I did another Christmas tree bento because honestly…it’s the easiest of the holiday icons to recreate using food.
The stainless steel and yakisoba love continues with this holiday themed bento.
This one is not new but it is a favorite and I suspect if we counted, this box would win as The Most Featured Bento Box on this blog!
I feel out-of-it. We are halfway through December and I haven’t even attempted a winter themed bento until today!
It’s embarassing I tellya, especially with the holiday B.O.M.B. challenge up and running! Read the rest of this entry →
Not very scary but for this year’s Halloween party, Hello Kitty donned her black wig and transformed herself to Aloha Kitty!
A hardboiled egg is Kitty’s head with nori for hair, flowers are watermelon radish, tomatoes, and takuan. Thai black rice, romanesco (my first time!), enoki mushrooms and shiso leaf recreate her tropical paradise!
Happy Halloween everyone!
The skies are grayer, the winds are wetter and the bentos put on their autumn best! I like to add “leaves” to my bentos during this time of year.
Bringing another bento “back to life”. Made with tofu, rice, egg, bell peppers…
