Tamarind Tree

Posted on October 03, 2010 by Debra

Saba Man and I have a group of friends that togther, we go out and enjoy new restaurants.   New,  not as in recently opened but new to us.   The Tamarind Tree in Seattle’s International District is an established 5 year dining experience.  But  for the life of me, I don’t know why I hadn’t eaten there before.

I’ve now eaten there twice in 3 days!   The first day, Saba Man was unable to join our group so I had to go back with him so he could enjoy too!

He ate what’s in the photo above…hai nam chicken rice pot.

I had the Vegetarian Crepe…here’s how the menu describes it:

“Shiitake mushroom, bean sprouts, mung bean, and tofu in fried rice batter topped with coconut milk served with green vegetable platter and vegetarian soy sauce.”

I’ll simplify… “yum!”

I know what your thinking.

Yes, yes it was.

Here’s the vegetarian spring rolls stuffed with grilled tofu.  These are the crispiest rolls I’ve every eaten.

During my first visit I had the grilled tofu noodle dish.  Outstanding flavor, but I had forgotten my camera!

What?  You say you want to see photos?

Okay…but I’ll have to go back!
