Sweet Miso Chicken Bento

Posted on September 23, 2010 by Debra

Here’s a bento filled with a hodge-podge of items from recent articles.

There’s the ham wrapped asparagus, sweet miso chicken (in-flight bento) here’s the recipe, and kongbap.  Kongbap is the Korean mixture of brown or white rice with grains and beans.

The giant strawberry is the last of my recent farmers market purchase and I must say that for being end-of-season, this batch tasted pretty good.

Saba Man remarked that these particular ham wrapped asparagus were different than the last time. And he’s right, the ham slices are thicker, which I didn’t notice at the time of purchase. :(

Don’t like the thick ham…I gave it a go but the remaining slices will be chopped up for an omelet.  :)

As for the rest of this bento, the filler items are cukes and kaiware.

Oh… did you want a close-up of the top tier?

Here’s a gratuitous shot of the cucumber blossom.

Is this a round stackable bento box? I love it. That cucumber flower is beautiful! I think my daughter would prefer the thicker ham.. and then pick out the veggy within. Lol! Loving all the variety of bentos with kongpap you’ve been making!
