Salmon Patty with Sweet Dessert Bento
I usually don’t add sweets to Saba Man’s bento lunches but with the overflow of butter-mochi…I had no where else to put them.
I mentioned my recent obsession with butter mochi in an earlier post.
Yes, I know these are filled with horrible calories.
That are mostly carbs.
Which are highly addictive.
But I can’t stop making them. I even did a birthday butter-mochi cake each for a friend AND a relative…without being asked.
They can thank me later.
So…the other items along with the cute and sparkle-ly, mini butter-mochi bite is a shoyu with ginger salmon patty, kongbap (rice), cukes, tomatoes, fig, kaiware sprouts, and enoki mushrooms.
But who cares…it’s all about the butter-mochi I tellya!

Yummy salmon and rice takes a back seat to butter mochi star, though they rock the nutrients like the solid standouts they are. I like the layered effect here. Why haven’t I done salmon lately? Hmmm.
Thanks sheri!
Your delicious butter mochi is featuring again … ohhh looks so nice in this bento. Wish I can barter my mooncake with that
Fresh cukes and tomatoes, pretty bento!
Oh Lia, I wish we lived closer so we could trade goodies! I love mooncake.
Oh I love your butter mochi! Its so cute and sparkly too.
Wonderful bento!
Hi Susan! Thank you!
it IS all about the mochi! though the kongbap and salmon patty are also quite enticing… actually you inspired me to include a little salmon patty action in my own bento tonight!
Hi megan, I love the kongbap too. Thanks.
I love the look of this bento, and the butter mochi just gleems! I’ve recently started making bentos, and came across some fresh enoki mushrooms in the asian market. Do you cook them before you add them to the bento, or just eat them raw? They just look perfect for bentos!
Hi RellaRey, Thanks and welcome to our bento blog. I eat the enoki mushroom raw. Cooking makes them very limp.
I desperately want to try butter mochi, yet I’m afraid if I buy it, it won’t be as yummy as I anticipate yours is.
Hi Shannon, Thanks…you should give it try, so easy…even I could do it.
You always have the healthy bento, Debra…and the mochi is a sweet bonus!
Thanks yenny!
Mmmmmm! Vibrant textures, contrasting flavors and lush sweet butter mochi, whatta bento! I just love typing “butter mochi”–eating one must be dreamy!
Hi Jenn, Thanks so much for your sweeter- than- butte-r mochi comments.
