Costco Salmon Patties Bento
You’ll know instantly that Saba Man has gone on a Costco run when there’s sequential salmon bento posts!
To avoid “bento-boredom”, I’ll try and space out the salmon lunches in-between the veggie ones.
This bento is a big—with two whole salmon patties, simmered in shoyu and garlic. Saba Man has been working extra hours so I “upped” (is that a word?) his calories. We don’t want a tired AND hungry hubby driving home.
The other stuff is the usual…brown rice, broccoli, cucumber, tomatoes and carrots. Although I wish I would of used regular orange ones instead of yellow. Too much paleness in this one I think. Eh…you be the judge!
I also tried out a new leaf-shaped nori punch that I bought from Daiso of all places. They usually don’t have nori punches but on a recent shopping spree visit I saw they had some cute ones like musical notes, flowers, faces, and cars! Hey, for a buck-fifty…why not?
Now for a tomato plant update: They are still alive, but I haven’t replanted them yet. I bought the soil and the pots but have not completed the next steps. The basil is surviving too. Hang in there plants!

Do you shop at the Daiso in Westlake Mall, or the one next to Uwajimaya? I didn’t get a chance to go to the Westlake Mall during my last Seattle visit, and I am kicking myself in the pants for not going there.
Keep growing little plants, you can do it!!!
Hi Sonoma Bento, I shop at both Daiso and sometimes the one up north at the Alderwood Mall. They all carry the same stuff and it’s more of a matter of timing to get the cute bento items before they sell out.
I personally love the way yellow carrots look. Delish bento. Never saw or thought to look for salmon patties at Costco; they do look yummy here!
Hi sheri, I have you to thank for using yellow carrots as it was one of your beautiful bento lunches that inspired me. Oh yeah, Costco salmon patties are pretty good.
Hmm I think I need to take a trip to Cosco and try those salmon patties! I think the carrots look fine!
Thanks fluteloop! The Costco stores in the Seattle area carry two different brands/types in the frozen food section. I get the one with less “fillers” more salmon.
Jealous with your yellow carrots hehehe … Delicious & beautiful bento! Always feeling so good and healthy after looked at your bento. Have a nice weekend Deb, for you and SM! (^.^)
Hey Lia! The yellow carrots are a treat for the eyes only as they taste the same as plain old orange carrots. Don’t be too jealous.
Very pretty, I think the yellow carrots make it unique (since I have never seen yellow carrots before).
Good luck with the garden. We have three lovely watermelon, some nice green pepper, but birds keep eating our tomatoes everytime one turns the slightest bit pink.

Hey there Shannon! Thanks so much. I would love to grow some watermelon, but I don’t have the room. The birds in our garden don’t seem to bother…but damn those squirrles!
Debra, you’re such an expert in making beautiful and healthy non charaben. Need to learn a lot from you…
Hey there tata! Gee whiz…*blushing* thanks so much for your kind words.
this looks like a very yummy and filling combination. and those little nori leaves on the cucumber slices are such a pretty accent! not sure i’ve seen you use that punch before!
Hi megan, Thanks for popping in to take a peek at my bento. The leaf punch is a recent purchase.
Healthy and lovely as always and I also love the delicate leaf accent!
