“Lost” Rabbit No. 15 Bento

Posted on March 29, 2010 by Debra

On Tuesday nights I watch the television show “LOST”.  It’s the final season and it’s been a while since they showed a rabbit, but a couple episodes ago one of the Losties was cooking a rabbit over an open fire on the beach.   Until that scene, I had pretty much forgotten about the numbered rabbits on “The Island”.   Hmmm…?

And so…since it’s “bunny season”  and April’s theme for The B.O.M.B., I thought it would be fun to re-introduce “Rabbit No. 15″!

If you’re wondering why I wrote  ”re-introduce”…watch this secret video that Doctor Edgar Halliwax, aka Marvin Candle of  “Station 6″, aka  ”The Orchid”  filmed for the “Dharma” initiative.  ”The Orchid Station”  is not the same as  “The Swan Station“ for  which I did a bento in it’s honor.  (Please stay with me on this. )  ;)

So what happened to “Rabbit No. 15″?   Well… as you can see, the rabbit is with me…for now.  :P

You know what… truth be told,  I’m  glad  this is the final “Lost ” season.  It’s story, with all the twists and turns has worn me out.  It’s getting so crazy that maybe next week, I might just pack  a “jump the shark” bento.

Also in the photo are some carrots in case  “Rabbit No. 15″  goes on another “flash sideways” and gets hungry.   And if  you’re wondering about the meat and fish… they’re for the polar bears!

  4. Lia Chen says:

I don’t watch the show so I’m totally LOST it hehehe … But the bunny is adorable! Love his fluffy tail :)

  5. Lexi says:

Love it – and also as a ‘Lost’ watcher I love the idea of a ‘jump the shark’ bento too! :)

  6. gamene says:

sooooo clever to combine a lost theme AND a bunny theme – you rock, debra! i also love the idea of using the sandwich basket for the bunny’s cage, and the bunny is perfectly made (cute ears). great cucumber fish too. this one is an all-around winner!!

  7. Marisa says:

Great bunny. Don’t watch Lost so I don’t get it. Does the bunny turn vicious? He’s cute though.

  8. Ingrid says:

I’m at a loss when it comes to LOST as well :-) I watched the first two seasons but then I missed a couple of episodes and I couldn’t make any sense of it anymore, so I stopped watching.

The bunny does look cute in its little cage, though. As I didn’t know it was a lost reference, I thought it was in a bunny race or something :-)

  9. Debra says:

Hi Lia, Lexi, gamene, Marisa, and Ingrid! Thank you for you nice comments! I watch “Lost” faithfully and I still don’t get it! :)

Marisa- no the bunny doesn’t turn vicious… but he can time travel! o_O

  10. Susan says:

Sooo cute!!! I don’t watch “Lost” either, but that bunny is awesome! I love his cute little bunny cotton tail! :D

  11. Lyndsey says:

You are so funny! I know LOST is exhausting at times, okay…most of the time. Just when you think you got it figured out…they throw in Jacks dad…and Claire his sister…then Richard… and run out of flash forwards…or flash backwards….you got it…let’s flash them sideways! Sheesh! You know it’s bad when they have to have pop ups to explain on the reruns!

I love your Bunny, so clever, and he has plenty of lettuce to eat! But then there’s Easter!

    • Debra says:

Haha! That’s exactily what I said to Saba Man… this show is so bad that that they have a tutorial running along the bottom of the screen! Thanks for liking the bunny!

  12. fluteloop says:

That bunny is just the cutest ever!

  13. Regina says:

I love the bunny!! Your bento has definitely inspired me to make little bunnies next time I serve meat/ rice. A bunny for each plate!! :) Is your rice plain? Or is does it have seasoning added to it, like sushi rice

    • Debra says:

Hi Regina! The rice is plain but I did have sea salt on my hands while I was shaping it. A bunny on eat plate sounds like fun! Thank you for your sweet comments!

  14. Cecilia says:

So creative, love it! Beautiful edible bunny!

  15. this is a display of total creative ingenuity!
