Mini Tuna Burger Bento Box

Posted on March 11, 2010 by Debra

A quick post for small bento box as it’s been awhile since I featured one of Saba Man’s midnight snacks!

Saffron rice wrapped in shiso leaf, mini tuna burgers, watermelon radish sunomono, cukes, carrots and tomatoes!  That’s it.   I’ll be posting my new recipe for the mini tuna burgers soon as it will be a part of an upcoming “bento stash” series. :)

Now that’s what I would call a spring floral bento! Those teeny burgers are super adorable too!

Thanks sheri, they are pretty cute! I wanted to eat one, but it’s tuna so I’ll have to make some veggie one for me soon.

Always love when the Wonder Bread box comes out! Mine still pretty much exclusively houses boring-looking sandwiches, but who knows? With your inspiration, it might have a bright bento future ahead of it!

I’m really looking forward to your upcoming bento stash series. I think that building up a stash will really help me in my quest to pack more bentos, and I’m grateful for any help I can get. :)

Hi Maria, Thanks for your nice comments. I love the Wonder Bread box too! It was a gift from a very sweet bento-friend and it’s one of my favorites! You should definately try using yours as a bento box… it’s perfect dimensions make for easy filling.

Shiso is a favorite of mine! Can you grow it as a potted plant? I want to try…

    • Debra says:

Hi Ariel, I’ve never tried growning my own shiso as I can buy it easily here in my local stores. I’ve seen shiso seeds so I’m sure there’s a way. What a great idea to farm our own shiso for bentos!
