Ginger Soy Salmon Bento Box

Posted on February 21, 2010 by Debra

We are still working through our bento stash and that’s why another bento with salmon patties.  This time they’re grilled with a soy ginger flavor (thanks Megan) and wrapped with shiso leaves.

The other items in this bottom tier are brown rice and beni shoga.   The  top tier contains sliced cucumber, roasted delicata squash, steamed edamame shumai topped with purple sweet potatoes!

We finally purchase a new refrigerator yesterday, but it’s not being delivered for a few more days.   Hence we will be using up as much frozen items as possible until the we are able to switch over.

If it weren’t for the fact that we are experiencing a very mild winter, I would consider placing the food in a cooler out in the garage.  Alas, we have higher than average temps so the plan it to keep the food cold with ice.  The frozen stuff should be down to bare minimum… only a few more salmon patties to go!

I have seen you use a lot of shiso leaves in your bento. They look so nice to wrapped any kind of meats. I probably will try it someday for my bento too ;) Congrats for the new refrigerator! The old one will be retiring soon hehehe :D

  2. I agree with Lia–shiso are stars in your lovely bentos! Soy giner salmon–yum yum yum.
